We design and build India’s own drones

Founded in Pune in 2023, we’re a small engineering team building UAV platforms for defence and industry — airframe, flight software and ground control, all done in-house.

Our Story
Decouvertes team with UAV platforms in the field
Since 2023

An engineering company, not a trading one

A lot of “Made in India” in this industry means importing an airframe and bolting on a local nameplate. We do the opposite — our frames are designed here, our flight-controller firmware is written here, and when something breaks in the field, the person who built it is usually the one who fixes it. It’s slower than importing. It’s also the only way to actually own the technology instead of renting someone else’s.

Purpose

Mission, vision and philosophy

01

Our Mission

To design, build and support reliable UAV and embedded systems that meet our customers’ operational needs.

02

Our Vision

To be a trusted Indian developer of unmanned and autonomous systems for defence and industry.

03

Our Philosophy

“Decouvertes” is French for discovery, which is close to what most days here look like — try something, watch it fail in a new way, fix it before the next flight.

Why Us

Why DECOUVERTES?

The things that actually make working with us different day to day.

Indigenous R&D

Every design decision is made for Indian terrain, heat and infrastructure — not adapted from a spec written for somewhere else.

Engineering-First

The people who assemble a platform are the same people who designed it, so a fix doesn’t wait on a subcontractor.

Industrial-Grade

Built to survive dust, heat and a rough landing, because that’s the environment they actually fly in.

Long-Term Ownership

We hold the design files, the firmware and the source code, so support doesn’t stop the day the warranty does.

Made in India

Every component that can reasonably be sourced or made in India, is. What can’t be yet, we’re working to change.

Quality Assurance

Every platform gets flown and pushed past its rated limits in testing before it ships to anyone.

Trust & Compliance

Registered & certified

Formal recognition from the relevant Indian authorities — verifiable, not just claimed.

Startup India DPIIT Certificate of Recognition

Startup India — DPIIT

Recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India, under the Aerospace, Aeronautics & Defence Equipment sector. View certificate →

MSME Registered

Registered as a Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.

GST Registered

Registered for Goods & Services Tax, compliant with Indian indirect-tax regulations.

ISO 9001:2015 Compliant

Engineering and manufacturing processes aligned with the international quality-management standard.

Make in India

Every platform is designed, engineered and manufactured in India — contributing to national self-reliance in defence technology.

Capabilities

Technology stack

Advanced tools and indigenous expertise across the full UAV development cycle — airframe to autopilot.

CAD/CAM

Every airframe and mechanism is modelled and toleranced in CAD before a single part is cut — from carbon-composite arms to precision-machined mounts — so what we design is what we build.

FEA & Simulation

We simulate structural loads, vibration and thermal behaviour on screen, catching failure points before first flight rather than on the test range.

Rapid Prototyping

In-house 3D printing and CNC let us iterate an airframe revision in days, not weeks — critical while a platform is still being field-tuned.

Payload Integration

Our modular payload bay has carried EO/IR gimbals, LiDAR scanners, multispectral cameras and comms relays — swapped in the field without re-engineering the airframe.

Drone Systems

Flight-controller firmware, navigation and ground-control software are written in-house, giving us full control over performance, security and future upgrades.

Process

Engineering approach

Five stages, same team end to end — nobody hands this off halfway through.

01

Analysis

Figure out what’s actually needed, and whether it’s feasible within budget and timeline.

02

Design

Model it in CAD and simulate loads and airflow before anything is machined.

03

Prototyping

Print or machine a prototype, then fly it and see what the simulation missed.

04

Validation

Push it past its rated limits on the bench and in the field.

05

Delivery

Build the production run and get it into the customer’s hands.

Our Journey

From concept to reality

What’s actually happened so far, year by year.

2023

Inception

Company founded in Pune. A small engineering team forms and starts building the first airframe from scratch.

2025

Realization

The in-house airframe, flight controller, encrypted data link and ground-control software all reach flight-ready together.

2026

Expansion

New prototypes move from the workshop into field trials, and the product line grows beyond the first platform.

Leadership

Our leadership team combines decades of experience with a passion for indigenous innovation.

Heavy-lift airframe in the assembly bay
Future Roadmap

Where we’re headed

  • More platforms in the Vision series, with longer endurance and heavier payloads
  • Drone systems built to the specifications defence and government buyers actually ask for
  • Filing patents on the designs that are genuinely ours
  • Bringing more of the manufacturing process in-house, beyond final assembly

A drone is just the end product

The airframe, the autopilot, the ground software, and the people who can fix any of it before a demo — that’s what we’re actually building.
