Drone Engineer

Vision 1.0 through 4.0 all started as a CAD file on someone’s screen before they were airframes on a field. That someone would be you.

Heavy-lift airframe in the assembly bay
What You’d Design

The airframe, before anyone flies it

Structure, material choice, weight distribution, how a payload bay fits without wrecking the centre of gravity — that’s the design work behind every Vision platform, from the original quadcopter to the VTOL hybrid and the coaxial build. We model and simulate in CAD/CAM and FEA before a single part gets cut, then prototype fast with in-house 3D printing and CNC.

If a design idea only exists as a sketch until someone else builds it, it’s not really tested. Here, you’d likely be printing your own prototype within the week.

The Work

From sketch to something that flies

  • Design and model new airframes and mechanisms in CAD
  • Run structural and thermal simulation before committing to a build
  • Prototype quickly — 3D printing and CNC, iterated in days
  • Work alongside integration and embedded engineers so the airframe actually fits what it needs to carry
  • Be at the field trials when a design gets tested for real

Show us something you’ve designed and built

A finished CAD model that never got made doesn’t tell us much. Something you designed, printed or machined, and then actually tested, does.
